well, hello from houston texas. i landed to see water falling from the heavens in record fashion it seemed. it even seemed like some of it was coming up from the ground. strange indeed.
well last week i spent some time off in malibu. it was lovely. i got an upgrade on the rental car. it was a nice little convertable with no trunk space whatsoever. so my guitar was my date. i wish i had taken a photo. alas, i forgot. I can tell you, however, that this car was featured in the movie "Transformers". In fact, it was the car of the character Jazz. Jazz, if you dont recall, had some soul to his character. he also got ripped in half by megatron at the end. no bueno.
this is a picture of jazz (in car form):
too bad he didn't come in the combo of "rental car/robot". we coulda had fun. oh well.
then i went to Kenny's bachelor party on friday night. it was a cowboy theme. i didn't get the memo. But kenny did:
"somebody's poisoned the waterhole!!!!!"
anyways, then i hung out at home for a day and a half. now im here. in houston, getting to dine at such fine establishments as "Ragin Cajun Po-Boys". i mean really - does it get better?
Well, you can't see his face, but this guy two seats over on aisle sounds like a cross between michael and andy from the office. It's hilarious.
Heading back to phx for kennys bachelor party. Good times up north
So great to have time off. I woke up this morning and exhaled and rejoiced at the fact that I don't have to be somewhere. I get to just be.
So I'm enjoying God's creation- in the mountains and valleys.....in the old and the young, and in new life.
This is Bart and Monica Kennedy. They just got married- yoked together in love in. Covenant with God.
Yep, they got hitched :)
It was an honor to be in the wedding party an not play music- a nice change
So say a prayer for them
The face of America....trying to get where they're headed.
A two and a half hour delay means less than 24 hrs home. Days off like that will fly by.....it turns into the kind of day I liken to Christmas shopping - you have to make a list and be quick; otherwise, you lose the whole day to traffic and thoughts like, "um, what else did I need to do?"
Oh, Chicago. I love you, except when I'm flying through you.
View from backstage at the fest in Cleveland, as 27000 people sing, "my chains are gone, I've been set free....." beautiful moment. 300 voice choir. Beautiful.
Had a great set today. People really sang along- even In the heat.
Home tomorrow, then off to New York the next day. Oh well....one more week until vacation. Were all holding on an waiting for that :)
